Effingham Prompt Care’s mission is to deliver on the triple aim of health care by providing clinical excellence, outstanding value, and an exceptional experience in order to achieve better health for Effingham, IL and the surrounding communities.
History
Effingham Prompt Care was founded in 2002 by Drs. Narinder and Arvinder Arora. Drs. Arora have been practicing pulmonary and internal medicine in the Effingham, IL area for over 40 years.
We are proud to remain a completely independent medical practice and the only combined primary care and urgent care clinic in the area.
The physicians and providers at Effingham Prompt Care together have over 100 years of clinical experience, so you can rest assured that your health is in good hands.
Meet Our Medical Director
Dr. Arora graduated from Medical University of the Americas in 2010. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2013.
In addition to Primary and Urgent Care, Dr. Arora’s areas of interest include Weight Management, Hormone Restoration, Aesthetic Enhancement, and Regenerative Medicine.
Dr. Arora has been honored by HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for 10 years of service on the Medical Staff. He has served in the following leadership roles:
- Vice President of the Medical Staff
- Member of the Medical Executive Committee
- Member of the Peer Review Committee
- Member of the Credentials Committee
- Member of the Bylaws Subcommittee
Dr. Arora was appointed by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce to serve on the Board of Directors from 2024-2026.
Dr. Arora serves as a Medical Advisor for Anesthesia Labs, Inc, a start-up medical device company that is developing an AI-empowered infusion pump with the aim of decreasing medication errors and associated mortalities.
In his free time, Dr. Arora enjoys spending time with family, golfing, and boating.
Meet Our Team
Ruthann Brady
Ruthann is a Certified Medical Coder and has extensive experience in all areas of billing and coding.
Ruthann is eager to help our patients and staff in anyway she can. She sometimes fills in for the medical receptionists and helps with filing charts and other paperwork.
Originally from Farina, Ruthann has been working in medical offices since 1979. In her free time she enjoys mowing and working in the yard.
Amy Brown
Amy is one of our Certified Medical Assistants and has an Associate of Applied Science degree.
Amy first became passionate about healthcare while working as a home care aide. This experience fueled her desire to become a Medical Assistant.
Amy is married with 3 children and 1 granddaughter. In her free time she enjoys family time, reading, and working on puzzles.
Abbie Johnson
Abbie is an Office Assistant who has 10 years of medical office experience. She mainly focuses on accounts receivable and posting but is always available to assist with other duties.
In her free time, Abbie and her husband enjoy raising their two boys, doing remodels, traveling, and shopping.
Barb Ohnesorge
Barb is one of our Medical Receptionists and has served in a variety of different roles since she’s been at the clinic.
Barb is from Strasburg and attended Lake Land College. Her previous jobs include working at an insurance company, working as a school cook, and working as a telephone operator (which comes out very handy at her current job).
In her free time, Barb enjoys spending time with family and friends, doing arts and crafts, playing euchre, and gardening. She has also served on several committees at her church and in her community of Strasburg.
Brenda Shields, RN
Brenda is a Registered Nurse and is the head nurse at Effingham Prompt Care.
Brenda is originally from Olney and attended East Richland High School and Lakeland College. She has lived with her family in Beecher City for over 30 years.
Brenda’s personal and professional goals include continuing to be a caring and professional RN, spending time with her family including her husband, children, and grandchildren, and volunteering more in Church and in aging community settings.
In addition to spending time with her family, Brenda enjoys walking and reading.
Jen Vasquez
Jen is one of our Medical Receptionists and is the first smiling face you see when you enter the clinic.
Jen is from Effingham, attended Lake Land College, and served in the Army National Guard. Jen has also been a sales manager, event planner, preschool teacher, and was even a licensed child care provider for 18 years.
Jen loves the relationships she’s built with the patients at Effingham Prompt Care. She finds it very rewarding to be part of their healthcare journey and loves making them smile anytime she can.
In her free time, Jen enjoys fishing, camping, watching football, and spending time with her family.
